Warrant nets trio of drug-related arrests

Two men and a woman are facing multiple drug-related charges after members of the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Vice and Narcotics Unit executed a probable cause warrant on a property in Brooksville. The warrant was obtained after the HCSO received a tip that someone, later identified as Lorenzo Townsend Jr., 29, was allegedly selling crack cocaine from his residence at 834 Easy Street. The property is directly across the street from the Best Academy in Brooksville.

The investigation into the allegation revealed that Townsend, Jr. was selling illegal narcotics from the home. Another subsequent probe revealed that he and his girlfriend, 25-year-old Hannah Pashnick, had made several illegal narcotics purchases.

During their search of the property, investigators found 5.6 grams of Fentanyl; approximately 13 grams of crack cocaine; some 42.2 grams of Clonazepam Tablets; one gram of Buprenorphine HCL Tablets; about 0.1 grams of Hydromorphone HCL Tablets and about five grams of Marijuana.

They also found a variety of drug paraphernalia, including scales, baggies, and pipes, a Taurus nine mm handgun, a Remington 700 rifle, a JC Higgins 20 gauge shotgun, and multiple rounds of ammunition.

Investigators also searched a camper on the property and found several drug-related items belonging to 62-year-old Glen Thompkins, who was inside.

On March 8, while the search of the Easy Street property was underway, detectives caught up with both Townsend Jr. and Pashnick at the Probation and Parole Office in Brooksville.

At the time of the property search Townsend Jr. was on active felony probation for burglary in Hernando County and cocaine possession in Georgia.

He has had prior arrests for burglary, grand theft, multiple charges of possession of cocaine with intent to sell, the sale of Oxycodone, and possession of marijuana.

His criminal history also includes petit theft; parole violation; escape from custody; resisting arrest; aggravated assault; being a felon in possession of a firearm, and witness tampering.

Based on the items found during the East Street search, Townsend, Jr. was arrested and charged with armed trafficking in fentanyl; possession of crack cocaine; three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a Place for Sale of a Controlled Substance; possession of a firearm by convicted felon; possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was also arrested and charged with the sale of crack cocaine within 1,000 Feet of a Place of Worship; two counts of sale of crack cocaine; three counts of possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell; three counts of possession of a place to sell a controlled substance; three counts of unlawful use of a two-way communication device and three counts of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Finally, Townsend, Jr. was charged with parole violation and the original charge of burglary of a structure.

He is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center on a $325,000 bond.

He is on a no-bond status for the parole violation and the original burglary charge.

Pashnick, who has no criminal history, was also placed under arrest and charged with armed trafficking in fentanyl; possession of crack cocaine; possession of a controlled substance; possession of a place for the sale of a controlled substance; possession of fewer than 20 grams of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was also charged with the sale of crack cocaine within 1000 feet of a place of worship; possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell; possession of a place for the purpose of sale of a controlled substance; unlawful use of a two-way communication device; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center in lieu of a $215,000 bond.

Finally, Glenn Thompkins, who has an extensive criminal history and is a convicted felon, who has been sentenced to prison time in the Department of Corrections on three occasions, was also arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by convicted felon; two counts of possession of ammunition by a convicted felon; possession of a controlled substance; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is being held at the Hernando County Detention Center on a $46,000 bond.

The investigation into the cases remains ongoing.
