Hawks Fly Away with the WIN

On Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Nest, the Hawks won against the Bulldogs 12 – 0. Hawks win under a new Head Coach/Owner, Austin Webster, and his staff Dan Wright, Landon Webster, and General Manager Paul Vermeulen. This week’s comments from the head coach and players.

They say the measure of a man is how he handles adversity, and these players, these new coaches coming in on a short week, definitely showed what the players are made of in this game. We went out there together, and we won together. I’m so proud of these guys, but this was just the first of many more. We are now focused on our next game against the Tampa Bay Tigers – Austin Webster / Head Coach & Owner.

We have some things we have to work on. Having a bye this week helps us out a lot. It feels good to win, but even better when it’s at home against our rivals. #21 ATH Markus Hedgepeth

Wow! What a night to be a Hawk! Super proud of this team and organization. And am honored to be a part of the Hawk’s first win in organization history. I love this team, really, my brothers! But now it’s on to the next week, Gotta win the day, including practice. I can’t wait to see what god has planned for this team. # 1 QB Jordan Wright

First, I would like to thank the Southside Bulldogs for a hard-fault battle. It was a good feeling to get our first win at home. It was a physical defensive game; both sides fought hard. I was also looking forward to facing the Bulldogs again. The Hawks’ defense put our offense in a better position to score. Both defenses took advantage in creating turnovers, but the Hawks capitalized on the opportunity to put points on the board. The Hawks had many fourth-down stops and a heck of a goal-line stance, preventing the Bulldogs from scoring. The coming Saturday, the Hawks have a bye week; we will stay and practice as a solid team to be ready against the Tampa Tigers. #43 Jacob Valentino

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper. Stay focused on the next play. Onto the next game. Olay Olay Olay #99 ATH Antwaune Mims

Proud of this team! Proud to be a part of this organization! Proud to be helping run this organization and to have the opportunity to bring a football team to Hernando County! Thank you, partners, for believing in us! Been a long ride! Been a struggle as a start-up! But here we are! With the help of many who are willing to help this team on their own time is amazing! The support has been overwhelming -GM Paul Vermeulen
