Slides for Children in Need

Imagine treating a child in need to an exciting day full of fun and adventure. To bring them on a journey that takes them to a mystical castle that doubles as a bounce house, a tropical paradise, or even, perhaps, on a superhero or a dinosaur adventure!

Lil Ants House of Bounce in Hernando County is seeking to treat five families throughout Spring Hill, Weeki Wachee, and Brooksville to an adventure in play, one that will grant children in need a well-deserved reprieve from what may be a very tough life.

“We need your help to nominate five families. We want to give back and donate five slides for one weekend to any child who has recently had any severe medical Illness or anything that just shouldn’t happen to any child ever!” read an announcement for the Lil Ants House of Bounce Kindness campaign.

Lil Ants Owner Ashley Caldarella views community service as an important outreach of her business, a premier bounce house, water slide, and inflatable interactive ‘come to you’ rental service. “We do a lot of stuff, we always sponsor the Marine Corps League here, and we do a lot throughout the year to donate back to the community,” Caldarella explained.

Caldarella and company are always looking for new ways to help. “I just came up with the idea to do this project. It wasn’t really anything that sparked it other than knowing a lot of customers and knowing their struggles and running a page to give back,” she said.

Lil Ants offers a full and vivid array of inflatable slides, bounce houses, slide and Ferris wheel combos, slide and bounce house combos, waterslides, game sets, slide, and obstacle course combos, etc., all of which come adorned in a rainbow of colors and themes that range from Frozen to Batman, a tropical island with inflatable palms to a dinosaur island and a variety of fanciful castles.

“They get to pick whatever unit they want,” said Caldarella. For the folks at Lil Ants, the Happiness Project marks the beginning of an upward “slide” into the realm of philanthropy.
“I’m starting a non-profit this year, within the next couple months, to give back to local kids in Brooksville and Spring Hill as well,” she said, “so this was just to kick start that!” Caldarella now calls upon the Hernando County community to bring a whole lot of sunshine, and more than a little bounce, into the lives of some most deserving kids.

To nominate a family for the Lil Ants Kindness Project, email [email protected] by April 10th.
