Gregg Laskoski told the board that there is now a full complement of Half Cent Sales Tax Accountability Committee members at seven members. The newest members are Lara Dedmon (who ran for the school board last year), Kimberly Mulrooney and JoAnn Hartge.

Lori Sowers provided the figures for October through December 2022. Over those three months, the school district collected almost $4.3 million in sales tax revenue. They collected almost $157,000 in interest income on those funds. Since the inception of the sales tax in 2016, they have collected a little over $87 million in tax revenue and interest income. They have encumbered a little over $71 million. The average revenue per month in 2022 was $1.471 million. This is 2.19 times what they collected in the first year, 2016. She said that in reviewing the purchase orders, everything has been spent according to the taxpayers’ wishes. The committee’s next meeting is May 9 at 5 pm in the Ken Austin room and is open to the public.
