High School Football Kicks Off Now: Nature Coast Tech

Storylines:
How will the Sharks fare in year one of the Kazmier regime following their former head coach’s departure for Bartram Trail? It is not as if Coach Johns left the cupboard bare on his way out. The Brooksville-based team holds a 15-8 record over the past two seasons and has “the most dynamic quarterback I have seen in this county,” according to Coach Kazmier. The Sharks’ new head man is looking to work on one thing with his squad: playing clean and disciplined football. If they can reduce their penalties and turnovers, Kazmier feels the team in Columbia Blue “could be scary.”

Team Overview:
Head Coach: Robert Kazmier
Previous Season Record: 7-4
’21 – ’22 Season Record: 8-4
Stadium: Shark Tank

Sharks Schedule:
8/25 Home vs. Poinciana Eagles at 7:30
9/1 Nature Coast Tech at Hernando Leopards at 7:30
9/8 Home vs. Springstead Eagles at 7:30

9/22 Nature Coast Tech at Sunlake Seahawks at 7:00
9/29 Home vs. Weeki Wachee Hornets at 7:30 (District)
10/6 Nature Coast Tech at Land O’ Lakes Gators at 7:30
10/13 Home vs. Anclote Sharks at 7:30 (District)
10/20 Nature Coast Tech at Central Bears at 7:30
11/3 Nature Coast Tech at Gulf Buccaneers at 7:30

Players to watch for: QB Jackson Hoyt, RB Christian Cromer, WR Jacorrion Owens

Game to watch: Game Two at Hernando High School- On the first of September, it will be a homecoming of sorts for the first-year Nature Coast head coach. The Purple and Gold are not likely to see it that way, though. Last year, the Sharks swam through their cross-county rival to the tune of a 45-3 shellacking. With this being Kazmier’s first game back at Tom Fisher Stadium since he was tasked with leading Nature Coast, the Leopards will look to give him a not-so-pleasant welcome, at least as far as the score is concerned.
