Lithium batteries used to power remote-controlled cars are being blamed for causing a house fire on the 10000 block of Clarion Street in Spring Hill over the Labor Day holiday.
In a written statement, the Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) said that crews arrived on the scene around 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 4 to find heavy smoke billowing over the garage and eaves of the residence. They quickly put out a blaze in the garage.
No one was injured in the incident, and pets, including a dog, hamster, and pet spider, were rescued from the blaze.
