Notes from the Museums: National Museum Day

The Hernando Museums will once again offer free admission to selected museums. Therefore, the three museums owned by the Hernando Historical Museum Assoc., Inc. will be open free of charge to anyone having an event ticket on Sunday, September 17, 2023, during the hours of 11 am to 3 pm. Originally started by and promoted through the Smithsonian magazine, this year’s event is sponsored locally. For some reason, the Smithsonian magazine is not sponsoring the Museum Day Live event. However, the Hernando Museum Association is committed to providing a free day. Tickets can be printed from the website at www.hernandohistoricalmuseumassoc.com. Tickets on your cell phone will also be accepted. Regular admission prices will be charged without the printed tickets, so please get your tickets in advance.

It’s a very full day if you intend to visit all three museums, so arrive early!
