An upcoming event promises to plant the seeds of hope on behalf of a philanthropic organization that offers hope and help to those who need it most while celebrating women’s incredible spirit and power in our community and beyond.

On Friday, May 10, 6–8:30 p.m., at Silverthorn Golf & Country Club, Hernando-Pasco Hospice hosts the second annual Seeds of Hope event, presented by HPH Hospice Women Giving. This year’s event will be a movie-night-themed dinner. Silverthorn Golf & Country Club is at 4550 Golf Club Ln. #0303, Spring Hill. HPH Hospice is an affiliate of Chapters Health System.

Fun, inspiration, empowerment and camaraderie with like-minded women and men will be on the menu at this gala event, centered around a gourmet dinner. Beyond enjoying some good food, guests will have the chance to showcase their creativity via a feast for the senses—through the creation of movie-themed tablescapes, with each diner helping to set the scene in addition to the table by dressing as their favorite characters from their movie of choice. And although no Oscars will be in the offering, an award will be given for the best theatrical table setting at Seeds of Hope.

A silent auction will also be featured. Honored at the event will be the 2024 HPH Dandelion Award winner. The evening’s panelists will serve up food for thought: Carol Green, Lauren Dedea, and Amy Harper.

“This is our second year for the Seeds of Hope,” said Andrea Arflack, Director of Philanthropy at the Chapters Health Foundation, supporting HPH Hospice. “Proceeds benefit Chapters Health Foundation in support of HPH Hospice. HPH Hospice offers bereavement services to anyone in our communities, always free of charge. Proceeds from this event will help provide this much-needed support to grieving families.”

And as they support a worthy cause, guests will ‘set the stage’ for an evening of fun. “Along with an opportunity to network with like-minded men and women in our community, the evening will include a delicious dinner with the chance to showcase attendees’ creativity with movie-themed tablescapes and a movie-themed costume contest,” said Arflack. “A silent auction will offer a variety of items up for bidding. We will also introduce the winner of our 2024 HPH Hospice Women of Giving Dandelion Award, which will honor an HPH Hospice team member who has significantly impacted our patients and families. We will also hear from three local community panelists who understand the journey of overcoming challenges and will share stories of inspiration and empowerment.”

This trio of remarkable women will inspire guests through their unique stories of personal empowerment. “A little info about our panelists: We look forward to welcoming 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧, 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐃𝐂&𝐏, a heavy equipment sales company she started with her late husband, Barry. The business was successful for 35 years when Barry passed away in 2021 due to complications of his polycystic kidney disease,” said Arflack. “We will also hear from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐚, 𝐜𝐨-𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 Dedea, M.D. Family Medicine is a well-known medical professional with comprehensive training providing palliative, hospice, and outpatient services. Her deep passion for aiding people in every possible manner is the driving force behind her. Our third panelist will be 𝐀𝐦𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫, 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 Third Acre Farm 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞, committed to growing microgreens sustainably, using organic methods, free from pesticides and herbicides. Attending Camp Reach Out (an HPH camp for grieving kids) as a child was an important milestone in her life, and we look forward to hearing about her experience there.”

There’s still time for interested community members to help spread the Seeds of Hope.
“We still need sponsors and auction items, and of course, we want everyone to join us!” said Arflack. “Get some friends together and purchase a table of eight today!”

Individual tickets for Seeds of Hope are $65 or $500 for a table of 8.
