Tropical Storm Debby May Hit Hernando County on Sunday

Currently off the coast of Cuba there is a weather system that is expected to intensify into a tropical storm by Saturday. At the moment it is very disorganized, but it is forecast to strike Florida in the Tampa Bay region as a Tropical Storm on Sunday August 4. There is a tropical storm watch from the Hernando Pasco county line south.

This storm is currently expected to be a potential flooding event, since it is expected to be accompanied by heavy rainfall. There is also the possibility of some coastal flooding. It is projected to reach our area on Sunday August 4 with affects being felt late Saturday.

City of Brooksville
The self-serve site is located at 600 S. Brooksville Ave. and is open 24-hours a day.
There is a limited supply of sandbags and residents are asked to only take what they need and
leave the shovels for the next resident to use. To be considered a resident, individuals must reside within the City limits of Brooksville.
