Florida Native Plant Demonstration Garden Work Day

Soon the summer rains will be here – it’s time to add to the garden! Since 2012 it has been our privilege to care for the planning and plantings in the Florida Native section of the botanical garden.
During this workday we will assess where to refresh or replace the plantings, and prepare the sites. We will also deploy some improved fencing and edit our labeling. Please consider joining the NCBG team. Gardeners should bring water, gloves and their favorite gardening tools; please park on Parker Ave by the gate in the chain link fence.

ABOUT US
The Hernando Sun is a locally owned weekly newspaper. The founders of the newspaper are Rocco and Julie Maglio. They saw the need for a newspaper when the Hernando Today newspaper closed their doors in 2014. Rocco is from Hernando, he went to school from Moton Elementary through Hernando High. Growing up in Hernando enhances his ability to provide background to ongoing issues. The Hernando Sun Printed their first issue in March 2015. They published monthly for a year before increasing to a weekly printing. The newspaper is delivered through the US mail, so it arrives with your mail.
