Trenton, FL -- “It was a quiet bus ride going up. It’s kind of hard to take it all in,” Jeff Knott said. 

Hernando Christian Academy’s football team set a goal to be the 2019 6-man Florida State Champions. As every game they played brought them closer and closer, the road to the final championship game ended on Riverside’s home field. 

NCT Football Season Ends

Orlando, Fla.--- Just a chance!

The long bus ride that started from the campus of Nature Coast Tech High School was symbolic of the long journey that these Sharks started way back in the month of August. The journey included the hard work they endured, the sweat dripping under the blazing hot summer sun and the irritation of the many disappointments of games that were lost.

It’s all about the experience.

Hernando County, FL ---Middle school football coaches are building fundamentals for their players while junior varsity (JV) coaches are preparing their players for the higher expectations of varsity football.

Throughout the football season, I covered a few games. Interviewing coaches both in middle school and junior varsity.  Coaches all said that their goals are to mentally prepare these student athletes as well as build the right character.

NCT ends Citrus football season

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. —- It was a perfect night for football, the temperature was comfortable and the drizzle only made the game that much more exciting for everybody inside the Shark Tank.

The small crowd that had gathered together to help cheer for Nature Coast Tech High School for a quarter final first round game against Citrus High School, Friday Nov. 8, 2019. The cheering didn’t stop through the falling temperature, the wind, the rain falling from the clouds and of course-the Sharks’ victory.

Springstead rolls past Central 56-0 in regular season finale

BROOKSVILLE- Coming off their first loss of the season, Springstead wasn’t exactly happy about seeing the mark on what was a perfect record. 

The team that would end up being the ones to face an angry Eagles’ bunch? Central Bears. Springstead made sure to win and come away dominant heading into the postseason. Central was no match for the playoff-bound Springstead, as the Eagles rolled to a 56-0 victory at the Bears Den last Friday night. 

HCA football players make top ten list

Hernando Christian Academy (HCA) is a private school located on Emerson Road in Brooksville, FL. The school may be small, still, it’s packed with powerhouse athletes within their sports programs, and a few of those athletes are currently placed in the top ten not just in Florida under 6-man leader stats but in national and that’s including 11-man, according to the stats posted on MaxPreps.
