Since he took over as Central’s head football coach three years ago, Chris Sands has often emphasized his focus on finding opportunities for his players at the college level.
The product of his efforts was on display during Wednesday’s National Signing Day, when four Bears celebrated as they put pen to paper on a National Letter of Intent.

Springstead's Samantha Betters signed with the University of Florida on National Signing Day

Wednesday’s National Signing Day featured seven Hernando County athletes inking letters of intent to play their respective sports at the next level. While five football players put pen to paper, the lone Division I signee came from the girls soccer ranks, as Springstead senior Samantha Betters made official her commitment to attend the University of Florida.
