    NOTICE OF SCHOOL BOARD PUBLIC HEARING AND FINAL ADOPTION OF POLICY

    Notice is hereby given that the School Board of Hernando County, Florida will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 6:00 PM or as soon thereafter as it may be called up, in the School Board Room, 919 North Broad Street, Brooksville, Florida. Such hearing shall be for the purpose of final approval of the following:

    Magnet Program Procedures for Lottery Year 2018-19
    Controlled Choice Plan for Year 2018-19
    Exceptional Student Education Policies and Procedures 2016-17 through 2018-19

    The Magnet Program Procedures for Lottery Year 2018-19 was granted tentative approval at a public workshop on September 5, 2017. The Controlled Choice Plan for Year 2018-19 and the Exceptional Student Education Policies and Procedures 2016-17 through 2018-19 were granted tentative approval at a public workshop on September 19, 2017.

    A copy of these manuals are available for inspection in the offices of the Superintendent. It will also be posted to the School Board’s electronic agenda for the October 17, 2017 meeting. The electronic agenda can be accessed via the District’s website: www.hernandoschools.org.

    The School Board has the authority to adopt this handbook pursuant to sections 1001.41, 1001.42 and 1001.43 of the Florida Statutes. Any person who is affected by the proposed plan may present evidence, testimony and/or argument pertinent to the issue at the public hearing.

    If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he/she will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
