William “Bill” Astor Slaughter Jr.

December 22, 1951 – January 4, 2021

William A. Slaughter Jr, of Brooksville, Florida passed away on January 4 2021, in Zephyrhills, Florida.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY the son of Joan Jakobowicz Slaughter and William Astor Slaughter Sr, on December 22, 1951.

Bill graduated from North Rockland High School in 1970. He lived in Bloomingburg, New York for much of his life, along with his children and former wife.  During his life, Bill made many friends and enjoyed many hobbies.  His family remembers him as an enthusiastic blacksmith, a Civil War reenactor, a craftsman, and a hiker. 

Bill was an active and involved member of Grace World Outreach Church in Brooksville Florida, where he led a food donation effort and spent his time helping those in need.

Bill was predeceased by his parents.  He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Comish, and her husband Benjamin Comish, of Round Lake, NY; and his son William A. Slaughter lll, of Phillipsport, NY ; his former wife, Louise Forter; his brother, Robert Slaughter, and his wife, Elizabeth Slaughter, of Walker Valley, NY; his grandchildren, Harrison Comish and Sarah Comish, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services and Cremation will be private and at the convenience of his family.

 

Robert Moffatt Camilleri

Robert Camilleri

Robert Moffatt Camilleri, 87, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on January 6, 2021 in Brooksville, FL. Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Anthony and Mildred Moffatt Camilleri. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn and Merrick, Long Island and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. In 1953 he married Barbara Denmead (deceased) of Merrick.

After graduating from Philadelphia College of Bible and Faith Theological Seminary, Bob was a senior pastor at churches in PA, NY, CA, MI and MA for over forty years. He was an avid student of God’s Word and had translated the entire Bible from Hebrew and Greek during his personal study. 

He is survived by his children: Richard (Lisa); Bruce (Breta); Russell (Chris); Ruth (James) Catalfamo; Scott (Kim); 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Grace (Les) Wittekind; Roy (Carolyn – deceased) Camilleri; Gladys (Edward) McLeod and special cousin, Paul (Donna) Camiller.

A memorial service will be held at Gateway Bible Church in Spring Hill, Florida, at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 1, with Pastor Slayden MacGregor officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Gateway Bible Church, 5338 Freeport Drive, Spring Hill, FL  34606.
