Charles (Chuck) Fekete

Charles (Chuck) Fekete, born March 24, 1933 in Gary, Ind. passed away peacefully March 9th with his wife, Barbara of 35 years, by his side. After high school Chuck spent almost 11 years in the Air Force then applying outside the military he began his 25 year career as cameraman/photographer at NBC local news then to NBC Nightly News working with Tim Brokaw, Tim Russert, Andrea Mitchell, The Big Guns, they were called. Chuck traveled all over the world covering each President and major news events in those 25 years, winning many awards, including 3 News Emmy’s, but you would never know that, he never liked bragging so his wife bragged for him.  After 25 years of traveling, hours standing in the elements to get the right picture or film for the story..which all news cameramen can relate, he retired to Spring Hill, Fl. with his wife Barbara. Chuck loved fishing, reading or just working around his home, a perfect wonderful life.

Chuck is survived by his wife Barbara, his children, Dan, Tim, Tom as well as 6 grandchildren, Daniel, Charlie, Cody, Frankie, Lafonzo and Kaylee. He also leaves behind his brothers Bud, Don and sister Sharon.

He was sweet, kind, generous, and loving. He will be so missed.

Thank you Chuck Fekete, my loving husband for being the best part of my life for 35 years.  I will always miss you and love you with all my heart.  May you find comfort in the afterlife and know that one day I will be with you again.....  there will be no service at this time.
