In Loving Memory of Vincent Tyler Morin

U.S. Army E-6 Staff Sergeant
February 14, 1991 – April 23, 2025

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Vincent Tyler Morin, a devoted soldier, father, and friend. Born on February 14, 1991, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, MI, Vincent lived a life dedicated to service, courage, and kindness.

From a young age, Vincent embraced sports and the great outdoors. He played hockey and baseball in his childhood and later joined the Hancock High School football team. He had an adventurous spirit and loved walking, whether uphill, downhill, or across the countryside. But beyond his passions, Vincent was a socialite—he could strike up a conversation with anyone, and his warmth made him a joy to be around.

At just 17 years old, Vincent prepared himself for a life of military service, joining the U.S. Army and rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He first enlisted in 2009, serving until 2012, before rejoining in 2014 and continuing his service until 2020. His deployments took him to Afghanistan in 2011, where he served for a year, followed by a six-month return in 2016. The following year, he was deployed to Iraq, dedicating eight months to operations there.

Throughout his military career, Vincent earned numerous badges and medals, including the Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Army Service Ribbon, and National Defense Service Medal. His commendations also included the Army Commendation Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, and the NATO ISAF Medal for service in Afghanistan, reflecting his unwavering commitment and sacrifices for his country.

Despite being wounded in battle, his dedication pushed him to complete another tour. Vincent was instrumental in efforts to take down ISIS, always doing what was necessary to protect his fellow soldiers and the nation he loved. His pride in his service was genuine, and he never needed to embellish his accomplishments—his actions spoke for themselves.

In 2019, Vincent’s military career was tragically cut short when he was struck by a pickup truck with a plow. He was honorably medically discharged in 2020, closing a chapter of devoted military service but never dimming his loyalty to his country. His life was a testament to selflessness, resilience, and unwavering honor.

Above all, Vincent was a man of deep compassion. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back or stand in harm’s way to protect others. He loved his dog, making sure to walk him every day, no matter the conditions. He was a true Soldier, American Hero, Leader, Friend, Father, Brother, Neighbor, and the Best Son any Mother or Father could ask for.

Vincent is survived by his infant son, his significant other, Sydney, his father, David Morin, and his mother, Deanna, along with Bill, a proud U.S. Navy Vietnam Veteran. He is also survived by his sister, Samantha, his grandmother, Bonnie, and his extended family, including: Aunt Connie (Patrick), Great Uncle Don, U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran, Uncle Larry, U.S. Army Vietnam Era Veteran (Carol), Aunt Gail, Aunt Sue (Manuel), Uncle Bruce, U.S. Army Veteran, Aunt Julie (Scott), Uncle Henry (Florissa), Uncle Steve, Uncle Paul (Bonnie), Aunt Karen (Jasper, U.S. Marine Vietnam Era Veteran), Aunt Jeanetta (Jeff), Aunt Janice, Uncle Doug, Aunt Tina (Bob, U.S. Army Veteran), Many cousins, second cousins, third cousins, and military family.
