Teresa Lynn Johnson

Teresa Lynn Johnson, a beloved math teacher, devoted woman of faith, and cherished member of her community, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at her home in Jasper, Georgia. She was born January 6, 1969 to John Clifford and Dorothy Ann Bates in Brooksville, Florida.

Known for her sharp mind and kind spirit, Teresa spent many years inspiring students in the classroom with a deep passion for mathematics and an even greater love for her students. Her dedication to teaching extended beyond equations and formulas — she instilled confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Teresa’s life was a reflection of her unwavering faith in God. She was a devoted worshipper who found joy and strength in her spiritual community. Her kind heart and gentle presence left a lasting impression on all who crossed her path.

Outside the classroom, Teresa was an avid hiker who found peace and wonder in the beauty of America’s national parks. She also loved puzzles and games, always up for a good brain teaser. Music filled her home and her heart, offering both comfort and celebration throughout her life.

Teresa will be deeply missed.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Mark Johnson of Jasper; sons, Kenneth Johnson of Woodstock, Craig and Brooklyn Johnson of Papillion, Nebraska.

The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2025 in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home. Interment will be at Georgia National Cemetery on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m..

Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
