PHSC Lady Bobcats advance to NJCAA DII District F Championship

NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) D II District F championship held at Springwood Park in Burlington, NC is a double-elimination tournament and runs May 9-11.  Nine teams are competing in the tournament and PHSC will enter as the third seed. Who they will be playing against is unknown at this time.

The Final Five Conquistadors of 2017
Sophomores Gabriel Steele, Dylan Bailey, Destin Dunton, Charles Isaac and Chris Copeland, are the Final Five Conquistadors for the PHSC Basketball team. PHSC is currently changing their mascot name and the new mascot will be revealed to the public during the college’s Welcome Week for the 2017-18 school year.
PHSC ended the season with 12 wins and 14 losses. Their last game was a power win over Ave Maria 105 – 67, however their five graduating sophomores expressed that their final season playing on the court was a disappointment.

PHSC Womens Softball dominates in the JUCO Classic Tournament

The Pasco-Hernando State College women's softball team opened their 2017 season competing against Illinois Central College and Puerto Rican National Team for a double header tournament at Eddie Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater on January 27.

Teams from all over the country participated in the JUCO Classic Tournament. It’s an opportunity to compete against a diversity of talent and build skills.

“(We) really to try to get everyone in the mix and generate a team concept,” Head Coach Ryan said.

PSHC Basketball team is towards the end of their season. There are seven games left in the season and the team must pull off 5 wins to qualify for the District 10 tournament being held in Petersburg, Virginia.  Coach
Jones feels that with practice and hard work, the Conquistadors will reach this goal.

PHSC exhibit highlights the art aspect of architecture

When the word, “art,” is mentioned, many people may automatically think of painting, music, drawing, and so on. But, architecture can also be seen as a form of art. Not only does it takes imagination to create new and innovative designs and artistic talent to bring those ideas to life, but it can also be used to express or capture feelings.

PHSC Baseball uses the Fall Season to determine lineup, showcase skills

Since October 9th the PHSC baseball team has been hitting the field filling their 12 game Fall season schedule. November 13, against the Carrollwood Gators was their final game.

The Fall season gives the opportunity for freshman players to showcase their skills and potentially earn a starting position. Sophomore players fine tune and make adjustments, in hitting or field techniques, increasing their scouting potential for the upcoming Spring season.

On November 2nd PHSC began their 2016-2017 season going up against Job Corp. In November 2015, PHSC defeated Job Corp 103 -52 and then 108-84 back in January of 2016. Wednesday night was a struggle to win as PHSC only led by four in the first period.  
Wilchadson Charmant went up against PCJCC’s (Pinellas County Job Corps Center)  Dione Martin with starters Michael Flores, Adley Eliacin, Charles Isaac and Chris Copeland. On reserves were Ladarius Walden, Cedric Perry, Elijah McGhie and Dylan Bailey.

The PHSC Women’s Cross-Country team hosted their 12th Annual Run with the Quista’s 5K race

Run with the Quista’s
The PHSC Women’s Cross-Country team hosted their 12th Annual Run with the Quista’s 5K race on Sunday November 6th at the Pasco Campus.
There were over 100 participants in the scenic 5K race.  Among the participants were PHSC faculty, students, community members as well as some furry friends.
This fundraising event was put together for the cross country team and the proceeds are used to help with recruiting, travel as well as other expenses.
