The Miracle of Returning to Life After COVID

When Ronald "RJ" Wilkins Jr was diagnosed with COVID in May, the 30 year old was not expected to survive; and if he did, he was predicted to spend the rest of his life contending with long term brain injuries, this owing to the lack of oxygen reaching his brain during his illness.  Breathing and feeding tubes were inserted, and he was bed bound in his room at Bayfront Health Brooksville.

Summertime Needs for Community Help Agencies

Although generally known as a time of sun and fun, the summertime season is a time of challenge for area help agencies, who may need additional resources to help residents survive one of the hottest, most uncertain, and most financially challenging times in recent history. Yet with their generous donations and support, the people of Hernando County can deliver some much needed sunshine to people in need.

Matching Grant Needed to Fund Purchase of Cargo Van for Food Bank

The Community Food Bank (CFB) serves more than 60,000 individuals each month by acquiring and distributing nutritious food to more than 50 pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters; including eight based in Hernando County. And thanks to a recent generous donation and with a little help from the community, their 'drive' to help others just got a lot smoother!
