The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) offers funny and novel takes on the Bard's plays--37 of them, in a single production. The play will be performed Thursday, Apr 15, 7:30 p.m. - Sunday, April 25, 4 p.m. at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. 

Hernando Symphony Orchestra Expands & Plans for Resuming Performances

The music may be on pause. But while the band might not play on at the moment, the Hernando Symphony Orchestra does plan on doing so soon. Covid-19 has resulted in the cancelation of seven symphony concerts thus far, two in April, one in October, two in December, and two in February. Also canceled is an annual event at which HSO generally performs.

Youth theatre group performs Aladdin Jr.

In many of its versions and retellings, the legend of Aladdin has captured the imaginations of children around the world. So it seems only fitting that Live Oak Theatre's Acorn Theatre, a theatre of, by and for young people, will perform “Aladdin Jr.” March 18 through March 28 at the Carol and Frank Morsani Center for the Arts, 21030 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville. Seats are $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 13 and under when accompanied by an adult.

An ABBA Inspired Extravaganza; Mamma Mia

Flashback 1999: Realistically who would want to write a book centered on the musical life of a once-popular 1975 singing group from Sweden who faded from the spotlight over ten years ago?  After all, by 1999, we were listening to the tremendously popular “Backstreet Boys” who were topping the charts and filling our trendy headphones, and CD cases with their funky cool music.

Artist Profile: Fulfilling a Dream

Kimberly Dennis, of KD Art Designs, is a young woman who knows what she wants, although, achieving her dream has taken loads of planning, hard work, time, and momentum to implement.  She displays a remarkably positive attitude and her artistic prowess is her intense will-power and drives her to succeed. “It is paying-off,” she said humbly, and realizes she is living her dream right now!  Conducive to her creativity, she feels living on the Weeki Wachee River has certainly helped her atheistically.
