On 05-07-19 at 12:43 p.m., Hernando County deputies were dispatched to the area of 925 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Brooksville regarding a Suspicious Incident.
A caller advised dispatchers that a neighbor came to the residence stating that a male was at the neighbor’s house with a gun. Deputies were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival at what was believed to be a Domestic Dispute, a male fled from deputies. Multiple commands were given by deputies for the male to “stop” – the male failed to comply with said commands.
As the suspect was fleeing, deputies observed what was believed to be a firearm in his hand. Deputies also observed the male holding, then discarding, a bag of drugs (which was located with another small baggie). The bags of drugs contained a crystal-like substance, believed to be methamphetamine and a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana.
Numerous deputies and K-9 units searched by ground, while the HCSO Aviation Unit assisted from the air.
The suspect who fled has been identified as:
Anthony “Andy” M. Rodgers
Currently, Rodgers, a convicted Felon, faces charges of:
Possession of Methamphetamine
Resist Arrest w/o Violence
Additional charges pending.
After an extensive search, deputies were unable to locate Rodgers.

MAY 7, 2019 1:15PM- Hernando County deputies are in the area of 900 Ponce de Leon Boulevard in Brooksville searching for an ARMED SUBJECT (male) who fled on foot from the area of Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Ganz Drive.
Residents are asked to remain inside with doors locked and to call 9-1-1 to report sightings of any suspicious persons in this area.
