Due to the national situation, we are unable to host our annual coastal cleanup in Hernando County. But we aren’t going to let that stop us! Participate in our virtual coastal cleanup and help keep out coastal and marine waterways clean!
When: September 5 – October 31, 2020
Time: Anytime you can
Where: On land or on sea in coastal Hernando County
Directions:
1) Please register and complete the volunteer waiver forms on our site: https://ufcleanup.eventbrite.ca
2) Select a coastal or marine area in Hernando County to clean
3) Take pictures and share on social media using #UFIFASvirtualcleanup
4) Tally the trash as you collect it
5) Enter the trash data into our online form: https://bit.ly/3hXJTzV
The data from these cleanups helps us to better understand the marine debris pathways and help prevent that debris from entering our waterways. Please remember to log the data as best as you can. All information is useful!
