A Weeki Wachee woman is facing a manslaughter charge in connection with the shooting of a man at a residence on Nordica Road.

Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Deputy Public Information Officer (PIO) Michael Terry said that shortly after 1 p.m. on April 20, deputies and personnel from the Hernando County Fire Rescue & Emergency Services (HCFRES) responded to a call from a woman who said that she was performing CPR on a man who had been accidentally shot at a residence on Nordica Road in Weeki Wachee.

At the scene, 20-year-old Gabrielle Bohn told deputies that the man was lying in bed with her when he sustained the gunshot wound.

A witness told investigators that she was in another room when she heard a loud bang.

The witness, who is also a nurse, said that she subsequently went to the man’s room, found Bohn holding him, and told Bohn to start performing CPR on the man while she called 9-1-1.

After making the call, she took over for Bohn.

The man was taken to a local hospital but was later flown to an area trauma center for further treatment.

He later died from his injuries.

While he was being moved to the ambulance, deputies overheard Bohn say that she had accidentally shot the man.

She later made conflicting statements about how and why the man was shot, but that she “did not mean to shoot him.”

Deputies arrested Bohn and booked her into the Hernando County Detention Center on a charge of Negligent Manslaughter.

She is being held on bond.
