Two teens are facing charges after they were arrested for allegedly breaking into and damaging the clubhouse at the Whispering Oaks golf community in Ridge Manor.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), deputies responded to a call shortly after 1 a.m. on Aug. 10, reporting that two people had broken into the clubhouse and were breaking windows there.

Upon arrival, deputies saw a pair of young men moving around inside the building.

The deputies subsequently took both teens into custody and arrested the 16-year-old on one count of burglary of a dwelling or structure causing $1,000 in damage or more.

The 15-year-old was also arrested and charged with unarmed burglary of an unoccupied structure.

Both were taken to the Hernando County Detention Center, where Whitacre was later transferred to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).
