Notes From the Museums: Veteran’s Day Free

There is no way we can give enough thanks to the men and women who have served this country in military service. However, the Museum Association is honoring veterans by granting veterans free admission to the museums during Veteran’s Day week.

The museums have offered free admission for veterans on Veterans’ Day for the last several years. However, there are many services, memorials, and special events on the official day of recognition. So, this year, veterans will not have to miss out on anything and will be able to tour the May-Stringer House, the 1885 Depot Museum and the Countryman One Room Schoolhouse for free during regular hours at each of the museums during the week of November 8–11.

The Military Room at the May-Stringer will be of special interest to veterans, but all three buildings offer great exhibits. Please take advantage of this opportunity and thank you for your service.

The Museums Schedules!

The May-Stringer tours Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., (352) 799-0129

The 1885 Depot tours Friday – Saturday, noon–3 p.m., 352-799-4766

The Countryman One Room Schoolhouse, Thursday through Saturday, noon–3 p.m., 352-515-3054
